Meet the Bureau

Led by Kim Heppler, we bring a rare, multi-dimensional perspective to retail strategy—built on deep experience across both the developer and retailer sides of the industry, with international experience .

With a Master of Architecture, an Executive MBA, years of experience in Retail at Apple, Gap and Roots and nearly two decades at Cadillac Fairview, one of Canada’s most prominent real estate developers, Kim led national teams, built a high-performing department from the ground up, and redefined the tenant coordination process—accelerating timelines, elevating design outcomes, and driving measurable revenue growth.

Her work bridges architecture, brand storytelling, business strategy, and operational delivery. She has partnered with some of the world’s most recognized brands to shape impactful retail and F&B environments.

As a speaker, researcher, and published voice in the industry, Kim is passionate about the future of retail, particularly in the areas of sustainability, digital integration, experiential design, service and food & beverage innovation.

Whether advising at the C-suite level or supporting design execution, Kim offers strategic clarity and grounded expertise from concept to completion.

“Kim has a remarkable ability to navigate complex communication matrices, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams. Her passion for the projects extended far beyond completion—she championed strategies that were not only sustainable but future-proofed. Kim brings a sharp focus to both the outcome and the process and is a pleasure to work with”.

Merrill Fung, VP Architecture & Design, Development, Cadillac Fairview

"Working with Kim was a true partnership. As our key account lead, she was our go-to from start to finish — navigating everything from design decisions and operational challenges to tight timelines and evolving priorities. Her ability to keep things moving, communicate clearly across all stakeholders, and advocate for our needs (while balancing the realities of both the landlord and the broader project team) made a real difference. She brought structure, clarity, and strategy to every step of the process, helping us achieve a result that was on brand, on time, and aligned with our vision. I always felt we were in good hands."
